研究活動

１．学習者の目的に沿った日本語教育について；　２．日本語学習者に対する効果的な口頭発表；　３．留学生の行動についてConversation AnalysisとEthnographyの手法を用いての説明。
2022年7月20日、21日、King’s College London、Language, Education & Linguistic Citizenshipサマースクール（両日、日本時間18：00－24：00）参加。

2004年4月17日、テキサス大学オースティン校（University of Texas at Austin）大学院コミュニケーション学部にて、カリフォルニア大学ロサンゼルス校（UCLA、University of California, Los Angeles）からDr. Emanuel A. Schegloffを招いての会話分析データセッションが開催され、参加。

2000年10月‐2001年7月、北海道大学、北海道大学大学院文学研究科にて、言語学、言語情報学科目履修。4単位取得。

2000年7月24日‐28日、ミネソタ大学（University of Minnesota）CARLA（The Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition）、夏期講座 “Culture as the Core in the Second Language Classroom.” を履修。2単位取得。

2000年1月‐7月、ノースカロライナ大学グリンスボロ校（University of North Carolina at Greensboro）心理学部教授Dr. Edward J. Wisniewskiのプロジェクト “Cross-Psycholinguistics Analysis (English and Japanese) in Cognitive and Perceptual Processes of Individuation of Objects.” 参加。

1999年6月28日‐7月23日、コーネル大学（Cornell University）アジア学部、Japanese Teacher Training Workshop履修、4単位取得。コーネル大学より400ドル奨学金授与。

教育活動

2012年5月28日－31日、アメリカHouston市で開催されたNAFSA（National Association for Foreign Student Affairs）- Association of International Educators 年次大会に参加。

以下、大阪大学にて実施：
日本語教育に対しては初級・中級・上級のそれぞれに、教える楽しさがあると感じている。導入、口頭練習、文法説明、復習、発展問題、課題指示、採点などの流れの中にも、学習者から教えられることもある。自己内面描写として、日本語学習者（初級および上級日本語クラスにて）に、小説を書いてもらったこともある。
中級日本語学習者対象の日本語のクラスでは、スクリプトを用意させずに、自分が選んだ写真の説明、アドリブ、比較対照、説得、グループでの発表などの発表を課した。
上級日本語CLIL（Content and Language Integrated Learning）クラスでは、高齢化・過疎化・労働力不足が、「交通」にどのように影響しているかに着目した内容を提供した。日本語学習者の出身国・地域の現状を調べさせ、日本語で発表してもらった。

2012年5月28日－31日、アメリカHouston市で開催されたNAFSA（National Association for Foreign Student Affairs）- Association of International Educators 年次大会に参加。

1999年3月、ノースカロライナ大学グリンスボロ校（University of North Carolina at Greensboro）から、ノースカロライナ大学ウィルミントン校（University of North Carolina at Wilmington）へ、夏期名古屋プログラムに参加する学生3 名を引率（大学所有の車両Plymouth Breezeを運転）。ノースカロライナ大学グリンスボロ校より、旅費250ドルを授与。

社会活動

  • 2022年7月 ― 2023年2月、大阪府箕面市　箕面地域公共交通活性化協議会内、オレンジゆずるバス（コミュニティーバス）再編検討分科会に市民委員として参加。コミュニティーバスの新規運行ルート、運行時刻、利用促進案などに関しての意見交換（毎月１回開催の会合）に出席。大阪大学で留学生用CLIL（Content and Language Integrated Learning）コースJGU 600「進化系モビリティ」を担当しており、授業では日本の高齢化、過疎化、労働者不足解消のため、コミュニティーバスの利用状況、自動運転車両導入についても紹介した。
  • 2008年7月1日から12日、外務省非常勤職員として、G8北海道洞爺湖サミットのIMC (International Media Center 国際メディアセンター) にて、会場案内、および国内・海外のメディア関係者へメディアキットなどを配付。
  • 2008年3月‐6月、テキサス州サンアントニオ市役所国際課にて、サンアントニオ市中国姉妹都市交流企画委員に任命される。桂林市（熊本市の姉妹都市で、熊本市はサンアントニオ市の姉妹都市）と、成都市（四川一汽トヨタ社の工場がある）を推薦。
  • 2005年11月から2006年5月まで、および2006年11月から2007年5月までの2期、テキサス州サンアントニオ市ノースサイド・インデペンデント学区の高校生3名を対象に、地域の専門家から個人指導を受ける課外授業（メンターシップ）に依頼を受け参加。
  • 2001年10月17日、アリゾナ大学大学新聞（Arizona Daily Wildcat）記者が、奈良県からアメリカツアー中の和太鼓集団「倭（YAMATO）」創設者小川正晃氏へのインタビューをする際に、通訳を担当。
