研究活動
犯罪学の学術的背景を基盤に、日本とカナダにおける犯罪・司法・社会規範の違いと、それらを形づくる文化的要因に関心をもって研究しています。特に、若者を取り巻く制度（少年司法）や犯罪行動の心理・社会的背景、そして歴史的文脈の中で形成される「逸脱」や「犯罪」の捉え方の違いに注目し、比較の視点から考察を進めています。また、国際犯罪やジェノサイドといったグローバルな課題についても、社会の記憶や教育、言説（ナラティブ）の形成と結びつけながら理解を深め、教育/研究活動においても、根拠に基づく思考力と異文化理解を育む学びへとつなげています。
Building on my academic background in criminology, my interests focus on how culture shapes understandings of crime, justice, and social norms in Japan and Canada. In particular, I am interested in youth justice, the psychological and sociological foundations of criminal behaviour, and the historical contexts that influence how “deviance” and “crime” are defined and discussed across societies. I also remain engaged with global issues such as international crime and genocide, exploring how collective memory, education, and public narratives shape responses to these challenges. These perspectives inform my research, teaching and community engagement by emphasizing evidence-based reasoning, critical inquiry, and intercultural understanding.
教育活動
これまで9年間、教育現場で英語教育に携わってきました。JETプログラムのALTとして自治体・学校現場での指導経験を積んだ後、中高一貫校にてネイティブ英語教員（担任）として授業運営・教材作成・評価を担当し、広報アンバサダーとして対外的な発信や学校行事にも関わりました。現在は大学レベルの英語教育において、実践的コミュニケーション、アカデミック・ライティング、プレゼンテーション、批判的思考を重視した授業設計を行い、学習者が自信をもって英語を使えるよう支援しています。
I have more than nine years of teaching experience. After gaining classroom experience through the JET Programme as an Assistant Language Teacher, I worked at a secondary school as a native-speaking English teacher (including homeroom responsibilities), where I designed lessons and materials, assessed student performance, and supported school initiatives as a PR ambassador. I now teach at the university level, focusing on practical communication, academic writing, presentations, and critical thinking; to help learners build confidence and use English effectively in academic and real-world settings.
社会活動
地域イベントや文化活動へのボランティア参加を通して、地域の方々とのつながりを深めながら国際交流に取り組んできました。カナダ紹介の講話に加え、料理やクラフトなど「手を動かす」体験型ワークショップを企画・運営し、英語を実用的で親しみやすく、楽しく使えるものとして体感できる学習機会を提供しています。また、必要に応じて地域の英語表記（掲示・案内文・配布物等）の確認や改善にも協力し、訪日外国人や在住外国人にとって分かりやすい情報発信の支援を行います。
Through volunteering at community events and cultural activities, I have built strong local connections while supporting international exchange. In addition to giving talks introducing Canada, I plan to deliver hands-on, immersive workshops—such as cooking and crafts—that motivate participants to engage with English through practical, enjoyable experiences. When needed, I also assist with reviewing and improving English-language community materials (e.g., signage, notices, handouts) to make local information clearer and more accessible to international visitors and residents.
