Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies grants baccalaureate degrees in English, French, German, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.

There are 35 full-time faculty members. In the student body of around 750. The student body of the college is 90% female, and the university is 55% female. In the university, around half the students are English majors. In the college and university about 70% of the students come from outside Nagasaki Prefecture.

The history of the college dates from its founding on December 1, 1945. The institution was accrdited by the Japanese Ministry of Education in 1950. The four-year university opened in 2001.

The new facility, built in 1996, is located on the northern border of Nagasaki City and its suburb of Togitsu. The campus facilities include air-conditioned classrooms, a gymnasium, cafeteria, bookstore, and clubhouse. The campus also houses a Multimedia Center with a modern library, two computer assisted instruction (CAI) labs as well as language laboratories.

The campus is served daily by nearby local bus service, and, during the college's regular term time, by direct bus service. The university's school bus also operates, free of charge, throughout regular class days.
