Hello everyone! I first visited Nagasaki in the autumn of 2006, and since that time it has always been my dream to one day come and live here. Almost six years later, that dream finally came true when I moved from Tokyo to Nagasaki in the spring of 2012.

I love Nagasaki for many reasons, but mainly for its long history of foreign exchange. I am especially passionate about the Catholic history of Nagasaki, and one reason I believe this history is important is because it contains many moving examples of how friendships were formed between people from very different cultures.

I am hugely looking forward to meeting you all, and especially to learning more about the history of this incredible and unique city together.

2006年に初めて長崎を訪れたときから、この街に移り住むことが長年の夢でした。およそ6年後、私の夢はようやく実現し、2012年春に東京から長崎へやって来ました。
私は長崎をこよなく愛していますが、特に長きに渡って外国との交流をしてきたことで築かれたこの街の独特の歴史は、知れば知るほど、私の好奇心と研究意欲を高めてくれます。その中でも最も注目しているのが、長崎のカトリックの歴史についてです。この歴史は非常に重要だと感じています。なぜなら(これは一つの理由にすぎませんが)、異なった文化を持った人々の間で、どのようにして友情が育まれたかを教えてくれる感動的な例が多く残っており、この歴史を通して現代に生きる私たちも多くを学ぶことができると考えているからです。
この素晴らしい長崎の街でみなさんにお会いすることを楽しみにしています。一緒に異国の香りのする長崎の街について学んでいきましょう。
