On September 21 to 23, several Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies study abroad students participated in a cultural youth exchange trip sponsored by the Japan Student Services Organization. The students spent three days and two nights at the Aso Youth Exchange House, engaging in a wide range of activities and discussions.

Participant Naomi Oya from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Vancouver said, "We talked about many different things, from classes and part time jobs to gender roles and other social issues."

"I made lasting friendships in which people came to visit me in Nagasaki and I travelled to other prefectures to see them. Now, we continue to communicate with each other even when we can't meet."

The JASSO Kyushu Cultural Youth Exchange Trip is open to all international students. Information about future trips will be available on the university website and in the NUFS International Center.
