(Sunday, November 14, 2010) Short-term exchange student Zheng Xue Ying won the "Future" award at the 2nd annual Japanese Speech Contest held at Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies. The award selected by the high school student judge on the panel.
This year's speech contest featured ten participants from seven countries, with an audience of about 160. All of the speeches were performed at a high level, with many close scores.
At the conclusion of the speeches, pianist Naoko Yamaura performed the national anthems of each participating country, and speech participants, judges, and audience members furthered their cultural exchange at the awards ceremony and exchange event.
