Copies can be made from a book or magazine within copyright limits. To make copies of materials in the library collection, please first fill out the prescribed form (available in Japanese and English) at the circulation counter.　Also, when copying notes and other personal materials, please use the copier near the Newspaper Corner.

Copyright

Only a portion of a material may be copied.（You may not copy all pages of a document.） The latest issues of magazines and journals may not be copied. Back issues, however, may be copied. Copy circulation is limited to one per person.

Photocopy Form Q&A

Q：Why is it necessary to fill out a Photocopy Form?

A：Originally, the act of making copies of books and magazines at bookstores was seen as having the potential to violate the copyrights of authors. According to Japanese law, copies made at libraries may only be used for research (not commercial) purposes. The Photocopy Form is an application to make copies strictly for research purposes.
